Most people who visit Arequipa take a tour out to the Cañon de Colca, one of the world’s deepest canyons formed by an enormous seismic fault between the Coropuna (6425m) and Ampato (6325m) volcanoes. Although a tour can be fit into one day, it's best to go for at least 2 days, staying the night at the village of Chivay (3633m) the first village on the edge of the canyon. Even better is to stay some longer and have a trekking inside canyon to or from Cabanaconde, than you reel feel how deep the canyon is! The tour start early in the morning .Our transport picks you up at your hotel.

First day Chivay
We wil pick you up around 8 Am at your hotel in Arequipa.
Chivay is situated on 160km east of Arequipa and is the beloved resting-place to many tourists going to the Colca Cañon. In the area the people are proud to call this valley the deepest in the world: a mountain ridge of 3.200m from summit to river.
On the way to Chivay there are several stops to watch volcanoes, vicuñas and lama’s, the guide explain everything about nature and history .After an 1,5 h drive we will stop to drink a coca thee ,made from coca leafs , this is very good to get used to the altitude !Around lunchtime we reach Chivay were we take our lunch. After lunch you can relax or walkaround in the small town and his market .In the afternoon our transport bring us to the hot spring/10 sol/.An very clean hot pooloutside, surrounded by beautiful mountains .This relaxing hot spring ,everybody enjoys after the long ride In the evening you can have a good meal accompanied with local dance and music in traditional clothes, don’t forget to drink the local thee before sleeping in 1 of the nice hotels in and around Chivay
Second day: Condor Cross and continue to Puno
This morning we start after a very early after breakfast our trip to the condor cruz ,hoping to see the amazing condor .On the way the guide explain everything over the beautiful unspoiled Andean villages lined onboth sides of the canyon, In addition you'll have great views of the smoking Sabancaya volcano, one of the America's most active volcanoes, as well seeing the many traditional pre-Inca agricultural terraces which line the steep valley sides.
La Cruz del Cóndor (3320m), a 1½ hours drive from Chivay. From this natural observatory you can see into the deepest part of the canyon, you'll see the mysterious Toro Muerto. This cemetery of the Wari Indians is built in a 90° steep cliff face. It's hard to believe that these people brought their deaths to this place. It is even hard work for a professional climber to get there. The deaths were buried in the positions of a foetus, like all over Peru in ancient times. "Men has to leave the world as he came," said their unwritten bible. We witness the majestic flight of the Andean Condor, rising on the morning thermals (at around 9am.) The biggest bird in the world .Although this species is endangered by extermination, the occasion actually seeing a condor is reasonable. These vulture-like birds hunt in the morning or late afternoon. Most condors are between December and March at the coast, because of the rain season in the Andes.
Here the Colca River is seen 1.200m below. On the other side of the valley is the Mismi situated with its summit 3.200m above the Colca. Further downstream there are actually deeper canons but these are only accessible by foot, trained hikers and a good packed backpack.
After some stops in local villages and explanation from our guide over the inca history, we turn back to Chivay for lunch
At 1 Pm we changr bus / The guide wil help you. We take the comfortable bus 4 MM with other guide to continue to Puno. This bus wil stop 2 times 1 at flamingos and 2 at a viewpoint lagunillas
Ones in Puno our local agant waith for you to bring you to the hotel in Puno. Here you can enjoy a warm shower and a room with heating, because Puno is around 3900 Mt altitude, and it can be cold at night !
Remember to bring a swimming costume and towel for a visit to the thermal springs on the outskirts of Chivay. (Open 0600 - 1900

This tour you can extend in 3 days or you can do the 3 days tour with 1 day trekking in The canyon
You can do the tour in Pool( in group) or in private with private car and guide
For the more adventures people we also offer the tour in 3 days with a trekking from Cabanaconde.
First day you do the same as before , second day you drive to Cabanaconde. From here you start the walk down into the canyon ,its steep! After some hours going down, you arrive at the oasis down in the canyon .Here you can enjoy the warm canyon and take a dip in the swimming pool. Our local guide cook for you and you sleep very basic in bamboo huts. Next morning you start your climb up very early, before sunrise!! Than we continue by local bus to Chivay and Arequipa . With this amazing walk in the canyon you get real the feeling of the depth of this canyon!

Cancellation
Cancellations till 56 days before departure cost 15% of the total amount. Cancellation between 56 and 42 days before departure cost30% of the total amount , from 42 to 28 days before departure50%, from 28 to 14 days before departure 75% and from 14 to 7 days before departure90%. If you cancel 7 days or less before departure, you have to pay the total amount .Its better to take an insurancy for cancellation as well!
