Cusco adventure with 4 days incatrail
Cusco lays claim to be the oldest continuously inhabited city in the Americas.
It was the religious and administrative capital of the far-flung Inca Empire, and the equivalent of Mecca for the Inca's subjects; every person of importance throughout the empire tried to visit Cusco once in his lifetime. Most travellers usually end up seduced with this vibrant city and stay longer than first planned. The first thing that hits the newly arrived visitor to Cusco are the Inca walls, normous granite blocks carved to fit together perfectly without the aid of mortar beds. Many of the walls were simply built upon during the construction of a new Spanish city. It’s a tribute to the Incas that their anti seismic design has survived the test of time while the Spanish colonial architecture has been rebuilt several times following a wave of earthquakes that have hit the city.
Located at an altitude of 3.360m above sea level, Cusco was referred as the 'Navel of the World'. This is an ideal opportunity to see the highlights Cusco has to offer, such as a tour of the city the nearby Inca Ruins of Sacsayhuaman, Qenko, Pucapucara and Tambomachay, visit these places also by horse ! One of our most popular trips in the region for those looking to combine the cultural highlights of the Sacred Valley with the challenge of one of the world’s best known hikes. The four-day Inca Trail trek will reward you with a stunning combination of the region’s ruins, mountainscapes and cloud forests. Because we run our own treks. we can ensure the quality of food and equipment so that you’re free to enjoy the beauty of the region.

Day 1 : arrive in cusco
Arrive Cuzco at any time by bus or plane. check into our hotel and enjoy the city. A Peru planet person wil give you your briefing at the hotel
Relax and explore this fascinating city, and take time to acclimatize to the high altitude. Cuzco’s numerous colonial churches are one of the city’s most common sights. The Cathedral was started in 1559 and took 100 years to build. Also worth visiting are the churches of La Compañía, La Merced and San Francisco. There are several good museums in Cuzco, including the Archaeological Museum, which also houses a small art museum, the Regional History Museum and the Religious Art Museum. Our best advice for exploring Cuzco is to wear a comfortable pair of shoes, arm yourself with a city map and set off to explore! We give you already the cusco visitor ticket so you can explore the city.

At this point all hikers must show their original passport in order to enter to the Inka trail towards Machupicchu. From this point we will hike 12 km.
We cross the bridge and walk along the left shore of the Urubamba River, following the trail along a flat terrain, we reach the little community of Miskay (2800 m.a.s.l.), where we make a little break, and then continue walking for a steep path that will lead us to a high plateau, from where, all hikers will be rewarded with an amazing view of an Inca Building called Patallacta (2700 m.a.s.l.). At this point we will be starting the climbing to the highest and most famous mountain pass, the Abra Warmihuañusca (Dead Woman’s Pass 4200 m.a.s.l.). Usually our tour guide will be with us till the end, so even if you got delayed, don’t worry; the group will wait for everyone at the top of the Pass. Try to carry some chocolates, candies and coca leaves on your day backpack, this will help to keep your sugar level high, and also helptoward off altitude sickness.
