Inca Trail trekking, trip to Machu Picchu from Cusco - Peru, thru the sungate, official inca trail operator

There are only 500 persons a day allowed on doing the Inca trail (including the guides, porter and cooks that will come with you for the 2 or 4 days trail). Because of these new rules it's highly recommended to book your Inca trail 60 to 90 days in advance.
If you booked your Inca trail you need to pay the trek deposit in advance. Otherwise we will not be able to buy your trek permit.  Once we have bought your permit for the Inca trail it's not possible to change the date of your departure, or to change the passport number.
At this moment it's not allowed to climb the Wayna Picchu mountain for persons that are on the Inca trail.

Please notice that the Lares- and Salkantay trail, with Machu Picchu included, are always possible. 

At 5.30 you will be picked up from your residence to go to Ollantaytambo. At 7.30 you will arrive in Ollantaytambo where you can have breakfast. It's also recommended to buy some coca leaves or a pair of walking sticks (10 soles).
After breakfast the bus will drive you to Piskacucho (2650 m.a.s.l.). Piskacucho is a small community located at the beginning of the Inca trail. From this point you will hike for about 12 km. During the hike you will walk along the Urubamba river, have a little break at the Miskay community (2800 m.a.s.l.)  and you will have an amazing view of an Inca building called: Patallacta.
Around lunch time you will reach a nice natural spot where our cook and porters are waiting for you to have lunch.
After lunch you will hike up hill for about 2 hours until you reach the campsite where you will stay your first night. During the last 2 hours you will enjoying the Vilcanota ridge on the opposite side of the Urubamba river, and the Veronica snow covered mountain (5832 m.a.s.l.).

After an early breakfast you will climb up for 9 km along a beautiful narrow ravine. On this section hikers will experience a hard time because of all the steps. We advise you to take it easy and take a rest at any time you wish. 
After a few hours you will reach Lluluchapampa. At this point you will start to climb to the highest and most famous mountain pass: the Abra Warmihuañusca (Dead Woman's Pass 4200 m.a.s.l.). It will take about 2 hours to get to the top. We recommend you to just take it easy, without pushing yourself too much. Don't worry if you get delayed; the group will wait for everyone at the top of the pass. Once we reach the pass, we will have a break to enjoy the view.
After our break we will continue our way downhill to Pacaymayo Valley (3650 m.a.s.l.). During our way to Pacaymayo we will have lunch and you will likely see different kind of birds and the Andean bear (Tremarctus Ornatus).
Once we reach Pacaymayo we will have diner. This is also the place where we are going to stay overnight.

Notice:
We recommend you to carry some chocolates, candies and coca leaves with you during the hike. This will help to keep your sugar level high, and it will help against altitude sickness. 



 

After breakfast we will continue hiking for 15 km. Day 3 is the longest but most impressive and interesting day since you get to see a number of archaeological sites.
This day will start by hiking up a steep path that will lead you to the Runkurakay pass (3970 m.a.s.l.). During our way, you will stop to visit the archaeological ruins of Runkurakay (3800 m.a.s.l.) After you have reached the top, we will walk down to Yanacocha and arrive at Sayacmarca (3624 m.a.s.l.). After visiting this archeological place, you will enter the rainforest.  In the rainforest you will be walking up and down until you will come to the last climb that will lead you to the third pass: Abra de Phuyupatamarca (3650 m.a.s.l) From this point the rest of the trail is mostly downhill. During this way you will be visiting the ruins of Phuyupatamarca.
At the end of the day you will reach Wiñaywayna, where you will spend the night at a camping site. Close to the camping site there is a restaurant where you can enjoy hot showers, cold beers and some partying. This night you will also say goodbye to the cooks and porters, since they will take an early train to Cusco the next morning.

Note: if after reservation you have to change your passport, or if it is stolen, please bring the old one with you or at least a copy. INC is very strict! 
If the pasportnr at the permit is not the same, they don't let you start the incatrail. Please inform us in advance if you dont have a copy of the old one, than INC and Southamerica planet charge 25 usd administration cost to change this. 
It is not possible to Climb Wayna Picchu fot incatrail clients ( rules of INC)! 

*This reservation is fixed and unchangeable! Please control the name and passport number! 
*The travelers above indicated is responsible for a valid passport (minima 2 month valid after visit Peru), Medicines and injections, valid Student card ,and have to bring the Student card and passport with the number as booked !
*The traveler is responsible and obligated to have an good travel insurance. We prefer that you send a scan of your passport to us.
* Please bring the official document (like passport) with the original nr that you reserved with youon the trail There are many controls on the trail, while the permit is on this passport number. If ithappens that you have are need a new passport, please bring a color copy of the old passport withyou that have the number you booked on, inform Southamerica planet minima 2 days before departure andthere is a charge of 25 usd from the INC officials i it's still possible to change/if they accept.
* The traveler is responsible for their own, good travel insurance and for taking care of his personal belongings
*After reservation the Inca trail its impossible to change date of departure, Name or Passport number, there is no refund of permit!
*The trekking is in an international group (between 4 and 16 persons in the group), any problems, strike, late departure are nor the responsibility of Southamerica planet, it is an adventures trek
*If a notification of cancellation is received from the moment of reservation till 16 days prior to thedate of the beginning of the Trek, we charge cancelation fee for trekking permit +porter + Igv for the 4 days Inca trail is 251 Usd for the 2 days Inca trail 210 usd, of the total cost corresponding to administrative and banking fees.
*No refund will be made if the notification of cancellation is received 16 or less days before thebeginning of the Trek, than you have to pay the full amount, or in the case of a no-show by passenger(s) or for cancellations made during the trip itself.
*The client have to indicate us his hotel to pick up the day of departure at least 3 day in advance to coordinate the briefing and pay the balans in Cash USD or credit card +6 % at our office
* We rent out/ sleeping bags 20 Usd for 4 days/ walking sticks 16 usd 4 days
* The tour includes, English speaking guide, cook, porters for tents and food, camping material, transfer from hotel to start of the trail ,train return ticket to Poroy  or Ollanta,, entree machu picchu, bus from Machu picchu to aquas, Meals 3 b 3 l 3 d
* The campsites can be different than indicated in the program, because INC indicate us where to sleep
*We provide the mattress, but client have to carry this mattress
* Incatrail persons are not allowed to climb wayna picchu mountain,( INC Rules )
* If you have food restrictions, please inform us at least 5 days in advance !
