Cusco adventure with 2 Days Incatrail
Cusco lays claim to be the oldest continuously inhabited city in the Americas.
It was the religious and administrative capital of the far-flung Inca Empire, and the equivalent of Mecca for the Inca's subjects; every person of importance throughout the empire tried to visit Cusco once in his lifetime. Most travellers usually end up seduced with this vibrant city and stay longer than first planned. The first thing that hits the newly arrived visitor to Cusco are the Inca walls, normous granite blocks carved to fit together perfectly without the aid of mortar beds. Many of the walls were simply built upon during the construction of a new Spanish city. It’s a tribute to the Incas that their anti seismic design has survived the test of time while the Spanish colonial architecture has been rebuilt several times following a wave of earthquakes that have hit the city.
Located at an altitude of 3.360m above sea level, Cusco was referred as the 'Navel of the World'. This is an ideal opportunity to see the highlights Cusco has to offer, such as a tour of the city the nearby Inca Ruins of Sacsayhuaman, Qenko, Pucapucara and Tambomachay, visit these places also by horse ! One of our most popular trips in the region for those looking to combine the cultural highlights of the Sacred Valley with the challenge of one of the world’s best known hikes. The four-day Inca Trail trek will reward you with a stunning combination of the region’s ruins, mountainscapes and cloud forests. Because we run our own treks. we can ensure the quality of food and equipment so that you’re free to enjoy the beauty of the region.

Relax and explore this fascinating city, and take time to acclimatize to the high altitude. Cuzco’s numerous colonial churches are one of the city’s most common sights. The Cathedral was started in 1559 and took 100 years to build. Also worth visiting are the churches of La Compañía, La Merced and San Francisco. There are several good museums in Cuzco, including the Archaeological Museum, which also houses a small art museum, the Regional History Museum and the Religious Art Museum. Here we catch our breath and prepare for the hike ahead.
The town and fortress of Ollantaytambo are strategically situated overlooking the beautiful Urubamba River Valley. It is admired for its huge steep terraces guarding the Inca Fortress and for being one of the few places where the Spanish lost a major battle during the conquest. Day 5 Inca Trail 2 days to Machu Picchu (Wiñaywayna-Aqua calientes )
We pick you up at your hotel in sacred valley or you walk to the railway station in Ollantaytambo, to board the train that will take us to the Km. 104 on the Cusco – Machu Picchu Railway (at this point we will start our trek). We will reach Km. 104 around 10:00 am. On this point we get off the train and start our journey crossing the Willkamayu River (Urubamba River) using a bridge (cable and wood made). We start the trek visiting the famous Inka site of Chachabamba, a beautiful place with nice rooms and walls. After having a proper introduction of Inca History, we will climb up a trail of roughly 8 km.(3 hours), and afterwards we will reach the archaeological site of Wiñaywayna (2650 m), second only to Machupicchu in beauty. This fantastic site is a perfect example of Inca terrace farming, and it was probably an experimental laboratory for agricultural purposes in Inca times. The name Wiñaywayna comes from a name given to a beautiful orquid typical in the zone, and it means FOREVER YOUNG. Later on we will continue our trek, crossing the cloud forest though a narrow path till we reach the Inti Punku (Sun Gate). At this spot you will have a great view of the most beautiful Inca Citadel of Peru, “Machu Picchu”. This is indeed a special point where most of the hikers gather to get the best photo of this sacred city. Afterwards we will descend towards Machu Picchu, and will go down to Aguas Calientes by bus, where we will spend the night at the designated hostel. On this evening hiker got the option of visiting and relax at the hot springs located at the upper section of valley or just walk around the streets of this charming village
Day 6 Incatrail 2 days Machu picchu - Cusco
We get up early and after breakfast we will take one of the first busses that will take us up to the Sanctuary of Machu Picchu (25 min). Once there, our guide will show us the most important sectors of this great Inca City, such as the great Inti watana, the Sun Temple, the urban sector, the agricultural sector among others, and will provide an explanation. This guided tour will last approximately 2 hours, and afterwards we will have free time to explore the ruins on your own or just relax. By 1:00 pm. We suggest taking the bus down to Aguas Calientes. Busses are leaving when they are full. In Aguas Calientes you may have lunch and then take the train back to Ollantaytambo or Poroy. The train ride will last about 3 hours, so you will arrive in Cusco after nightfall. Transfer to your hotel in cusco
