We now present the Huayhuash 11 days trekking routes.These routes are just as spectacular as those found in Tibet and Nepal.The 180 km of trails make it one of the most difficult, longest and spectacular backpacking trips in the world.The average altitude of the trek is approximately 4,300 meters.
Few places in the world posses such beautiful landscapes as those found in Huayhuash, this is the reason why it is considered among the international community as one of the ten most spectaculars treks in the world.
The Cordillera Huayhuash is probably the most impressive trek in the Peruvian Andes.Six of its peaks are above 6,000 meters and fifteen others reach 5,400 meters.Huayhuash is the second highest tropical mountain range in the world behind the Cordillera Blanca.It has a variety of ecosystems and significant potential as a travel destination thanks to its incomparable and scenic views.Many lakes (Jahuacocha, Carhuacocha, Viconga and others) of incredible beauty are crossed while hiking through the protected valleys filled with a rich and diverse wildlife.

Itinerary
01 day Huaraz - Matacancha
We leave Huaraz to the south of the callejon de Huaylas, on the way we have wonderful views over the white Cordillera Blanca and Huayhuash. After visit traditional and typical village as Chiquian, Llamac and then we arrive to Pocpa where we star our trek to Matacancha 4100m approximately. Walking time 5 h.
02 day .Matacancha - Mitucocha.
After the breakfast we will begin slowly our treks towards the Cacanan pass 4685 m. and then go down to the Mitucocha Lake 4230m. Walking time 5 to 6 hours
03 day. Mitucocha -Carhuacocha.
We leave Mitucocha lake, after ascent to the Carhuac pass 4650m we go down until you reach the Carhuacocha lake, where we camp at 4138m.Walking time 5 to 6 h.
04 day.Carhuacocha- Huayhuash.
From the Carhuacocha Lake we go up to Siula pass 4800m. After we go down to visit carnicerococha and Huayhuah 4330m where we camp. Walking time 8 hours
05 day.Huayhuash -Viconga.
We go up towards the pass Portachuelo of Huayhuash 4750m.from the pass we will have spectacular views to many mountains as Trapecio, jurao, Leonhuacana, quesillojanca and Raura and then we go down to the Viconga lake 4407m. we will camp close to the hot spring, where you can swim. Walking time 5 hours.
06 day. Viconga – Huanacpatay
After the Andean breakfast we go up to the Cuyoc pass 5000m the highest point of Huayhuash trek. We will continue through the valley of Huanacpatay where we camp. Walking time 7 to 8 hours.
07 day. Huanacpatay-Cutatambo.
From this place we walk to Auquimarca community, we continue along the river Huayllapa and then we go up to camp site of Huatiac 4100m this place is located atthe food of the Diablo Mudo Mountain. Waking time 6 to 7 hours.
08 day. Cutatambo -Huatiac
From Huatiac we go up to Tapush pass 4800m, that separates the departments of Lima and Ancash, during the way down to Susucocha we have spectacular views on the Diablo Mudo and rajucollota, and we sleep at Cashpapampa 4100m. If some one has time we can go to climb Diablo Mountain from this place. Waking time 5 to 6 hours.
09 day.Huatiac – Susucocha.
From Cashpapampa we go up to Yaucha pass4847m. From this place you will have very nice view to many mountains like Yerupaja 6634m after the lunch in front of this beautiful scenery we go down to the wonderful Jahuacocha lake 4066m Where we camp. Walking time 6 to 7 hours.
10 day Susucocha Jahuacocha
From this place we go up to Rondoy pass 4750m. During the way we will visit Solterococha lake and we will be very near to snow peaks of Huayhuash, after we go down to Jahuacocha, in the afternoon we will prepare the typical food of Peru (Pachamanca), walking time 4 to 5 hours.
11 day jahuacocha – Llamac –Huaraz.
After the breakfast w ego down and we cross the last pass of the circuit Pampa Llamac 4300m. From this place we continue to Llamac where our car is waiting you for drive to Huaraz, we arrive to Huaraz at 6 p.m. Then we will meet again for celebrate your expedition with a lot of Pisco Sour (typical drink of Peru)
