We cross the canyon “Leon Punku”, continuing the walk until arriving at the ruins of Huchuy qosqo, where we will camp and have supper

After the breakfast we will make a guided visit to the ruins of Huchuy qosqo and enjoy our box lunch. After lunch we start going down towards the town of Chinchero for about 4 h. Where we will spend the second night at the hotel Casa de barro. Here we will take our dinner and we have private rooms with hot shower.

Day 3 Chinchero - Maras - Ollantaytambo - Aguas Calientes Day 3 Chinchero - Maras - Ollantaytambo - Aguas Calientes

After our breakfast we catch the car to the typical town “Maras” from where we walk about 2 H toward the archaeological centre of Moray. After the visit we continue to the saltpans of Maras going down till the main road from where we catch local transport to Olantaytambo. We take our lunchbox along our walk with beautiful views. Between 4 and 6 PM we catch the train to Aqua calientes where we sleep in a hostal.

Day 4: Visit Machu Picchu and train direction Cusco Day 4: Visit Machu Picchu and train direction Cusco

We take our breakfast, very early in the morning. Than we start our last day early,by taking one of the first buses going up to the entrée of the famous Inca Citadel of Machu Picchu. the“Lost City of the Incas.” We will be one of the first visitors this day.Your bilingual guide will take you throughout the vast ruins for about 2h. After this you have some free time to wander around yourself Machu Picchu is the best known of the Inca ruins, as it is recognized worldwide yet it is not mentioned in any of the writings of the Spanish Conquistadors. It is believed to have been constructed around the mid-15th century and was “rediscovered” by American historian Hiram Bingham in 1911. The guided tour of this fascinating place is an inspiring experience. Visit the Main Square, the Royal Quarters, the Temple of the Three Windows, the Circular Towers, the Sacred Sun Dial and Burial Grounds. After the excursion you can walk to Inti Punko, the “SUN GATE” to take the famous picture or to the mountain behind Machu Picchu “ Huayna Picchu “, in 45 min ,from here you have stunning views over the whole complex ! Or you climb Huayna Picchu/ be careful, from 2005 there is a new rule that there are only 400 persons a day allowed and the gate close at 12 h. its not possible to reserve these tickets!
After your free time you can walk down or drive down by bus to the town of Aguas Calientes for a late lunch or a dip in the hot springs (not included). In the afternoon we take the train back to Cusco or Ollantaytambo and arrive in cusco around 2100h.
