Introduction

For those who like to avoid the crowdie routes like the Inca trail we have add a more rustic tour; the 3 or 4  days trekking in the Lares Valley. This less-known hike combines amazing mountain scenery, lakes and lamas and authentic textile Quechua communities. You meet local people and pass by small villages. Up in the village of LARES, where you will enjoy its fabulous hot springs.


 


First day: Cusco- Thermal Baths De Lares -Cuncani-Queullacocha 5 h First day: Cusco- Thermal Baths De Lares -Cuncani-Queullacocha 5 h

Depart early in the morning by bus,till the town of Calca 1H where we stop ½ h, than Continue to “Lares” for  about 3 H drive. This is the capital of the district with the same name, a large village, whose principal attraction are its pleasant hot springs, where we can enjoy a dip . Later we start our walk until Trapiche 20 minwhere we take lunch, and take the turn to climb to Cuncani (3780mt). We walk thru a fertile valley with more vegetation, crops and agricultural communities. Along the trail we may see native flowers such as begonias and wild orchids. We walk on an uphill path that passes along the beautiful Queullacocha lagoon where we find our first campsite close to a Laguna 4150Mt.

Second day: Abra Huilquikasa – Quishuarani-Soroy cocha 7 h Second day: Abra Huilquikasa – Quishuarani-Soroy cocha 7 h

After a good breakfast we will start our trek ,we continue our hike towards the mountain pass, the Abra Willkiccasa (4400m), offering impressive views of both sides of the pass, especially of the Colquecruz and Pitusiray mountains. 2 h

In the afternoon we continue on the trail along changing puna, lakes and agricultural areas

, we can see a number of bird species. After Lunch we pass by two brilliant glacial lakes, Suirococha and Yuraccocha. Here we can see Andean Ibis and Andean goose. We cross the pass called Pachacuti (4,500 meters). Near the top of the pass, we will enjoy a spectacular view of the snow-covered peaks of Pitusiray (5,750 meters) and Chicon (5,500 meters). An original Inca stone path will lead us along the ridge down into the opposite corridor. We will follow a series of cascading waterfalls on the way down. We will camp in Soroy Cocha  3800 Mt close to a beautiful lagoon.

After Breakfast we walk for approximately 5h ,going down in a valley with lush vegetation and that will take us to Huaran, 2280 Mt ,where we will stop for lunch. From here we take the local bus (or private depending how manny people in the grou^p)  to Ollantaytambo for about 1 h20 . In Ollantaytambo we can visit this typical village and we take in the afternoon the train to Aquas calientes where we will sleep in a hostal,Double rooms with bathroom. We wil take diner in Ollanta or aquas (depending on the train time table)

Fourth day: Aqua Calientes Machupicchu-Cusco Fourth day: Aqua Calientes Machupicchu-Cusco

After an early breakfast we will take one of the first buses to visit the Historical Sanctuary of Machupicchu, where we will have a guided visit for about 02:00 hrs, later we have some free time. In the afternoon we will take the bus back to Aqua Calientes from where we take the train to return to Cusco or Ollantay where we wil arrive in the evening .

  7. 40 % deposit at western union to Peru, the rest you pay at our office in Cusco
