For those who like to avoid the crowdie routes like the Inca trail we have added a more rustic tour; the 3 or 4 days trekking in the Lares Valley. This less-known hike combines amazing mountain scenery, lakes and lamas and authentic textile Quechua communities. You meet local people and pass by small villages. Up in the village of Lares, where you will enjoy its fabulous hot springs.

First day: Cusco- Thermal Baths De Lares -Huaca huasi 6 h

Pick you up from your hotel early in the morning 03: 45 AM, we are going straight toward LARES ( hot springs) estimated time is 4 hours by bus, along the way we are going to pass through the HIGHEST POINT 4265 (asl) at this point it will be posible to see a few glaciar such as Sawasiray and Pitusiray, then we descend to the warm valley of Lares at a height of 3207 meters, we are have lunch around noon at this place. You will have the opportunity to visit the thermal baths and walk around the area. After a good rest we will start climbing up from 3207 (Lares) to 3800 above sea level (Huaca Wasi) (4 hours), the road is not dificult, during this trail we will observe the variety of vegetation, found in the valley and a nice climate , also we are going to apreciate the agriculture that the villagers use and how they take care for the caws and the llamas.
After a good walking day we arrive at our first camp site "Waca Huasi " this is a charming little
community where you can see that their houses are built of rustic materials such as mud bricks,
We enjoy our diner and we go early to bed in our comfortable tents, |

Second day: Huaca wasi-Miski unuyoc 6 h

Wake up call will be at 06:00 a.m and the breakfast at 07:00 am, then we climb up for at least 4 or 5 hours toward the Huaca Wasi pass (4500msnm)
The travel distance is 11 km away from the Huaca Wasi camp towards misky Unuyoc camp.
We Wake up early and after a good breakfast we will start our trek ,we continue our hike towards the mountain pass, huaca wasi (4500m), offering impressive views of both sides of the pass,
Along the path we only have high Andean vegetation, roads and houses are pre Hispanic, made by the Huaca Wasi villagers, we observe plenty of South American animals (llamas and alpacas), whe we arrive to the pass, you can see the majestic lake called Auroray (Blue Lagoon) which was formed after the deglaciation of the Pumahuanca snowy mountain and at this lake we will be our lunch. After lunch we start walking again for 1 hour and 30 minutes to reach our second camp site wich is MISKI UNUYOC that is near to the community of Manatnay located at 3800 meters.

Third day: Misky unuyoc Yanahuara -Ollantaytambo-Aquas cal 5 H

The wake up call will be at 07:00 am and after a healthy breakfast 08:00 am in the morning we will be ready to start our third day of walking toward Yanahuara (2950 m) a beautiful town with a very nice climate, located in the Urubamba Valley, this place is considared to be the major supplier of food
products of Cusco such as vast fields of corn and vegetables. This day we are walking down for about
3 to 4 hours until the beginning of the village of Yanahuara, where will we stop for lunch, during the hike we can appreciate the famous forest of Qeuñua which is protected by the Peruvian government as one of the few types of trees that can be appreciated at this point. After lunch we will take transportation from Yanahura (bus) to Ollantaytambo where you take the train to Aguas Calientes,(depending on the train time table) after 02 hours train we arrive to the small town aquas calientes. here we have a hostal with private bathroom ,and we have dinner in a local restaurant. Our guide give us a briefing about the next day. |

Fourth day: Aqua Calientes Machupicchu-Cusco

After an early breakfast we will take one of the first buses to visit the Historical Sanctuary of Machupicchu, where we will have a guided visit for about 02:00 hrs, later we have some free time. In the afternoon we will take the bus back to Aqua Calientes from where we take the train to return to Cusco or Ollantay where we wil arrive in the evening .
